Doug Wallace started Wallace Media in the thick of an economic recession, and it was the best business decision he has ever made. Doug was Deputy Editor of Wish magazine, Canada’s award-winning women’s lifestyle guide published by St. Joseph Media, until 2008. He also held Managing Editor and Executive Editor positions down the hall at FASHION and FASHION18, starting in 2000.

Previous stints in the print media also include Editor with Tribute, Teen Tribute and Kids Tribute magazines, Editor of XSTATIC online magazine and one of the founding Editors of Venue magazine.

Clients have included Chatelaine magazine, international design firm Burdifilek, The Spoke Club, The Globe and Mail, Style at Home magazine, Report on Business magazine, Procter & Gamble, FQ magazine, Toronto Star, The Magenta Foundation, Toronto Life, Movie Entertainment magazine, Marketing magazine, Discovery Channel and Sony BMG.

Doug is the consummate calming influence and has managed both people and budgets for 15 years. He is a past board member of the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors and currently one of the founding board members of Magenta Publishing for the Arts, Canada’s only non-profit arts-publishing house, for which he has edited nine books of photography, working with such celebrated writers as William Gibson, Douglas Coupland and Jane Urquhart.

Doug has experience in radio, television, print and new media, in the fields of art and design, fashion and beauty, food and entertaining, home decor, music and film. A National Magazine Award juror, he is also the only editor you know that has been to PMB School, and the only writer you know who has been published in Pig Latin. No guff!
